But Ryan Moorer left with a man on 3rd and two outs after a leadoff double, and Ruben Flores watched 3B Nate Tenbrink throw a groundball YIKES AND AWAY to let in the tying run and put the batter on 2nd. Jared Wells pitched a 1-2-3 7th, but suffered severe run damage in the 8th, Adam Heether taking him deep for a two run shot in a three run frame to cut the lead to 6-5 before Justin Thomas came in and got out of that mess. However, in the 9th, Thomas himself put two men on before Eric Hull relieved him, got a flyout, then served up a backbreaking three run homer to Heether, his 2nd of the night after hitting one this entire season prior.
Jeff Clement and Mike Morse got on in the 9th, but Bryan LaHair's strikeout ended the game.
